2K A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.846 A Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai. If you can get a wall-tower-wall arrangement, that's the best case scenario, because if your forward wall falls your archers don't have far to go to retreat before they can start firing again. Focus your defences where you can reasonably defend. If you're losing engineers and hammers all the time to the flying greed, and they're replacing themselves, you've got a villager resource drain right there. Spreading out defences isn't actually all that good. ![]() I had three vagrant camps so I was getting about 6 archers per day total, 3 per side, so I probably had over 150. I had like 50 days of winter where I did nothing but refresh statues, recruit vagrants, buy bows, repeat. I didn't count how many archers I had cliff-side when I did the 100 day challenge, but like /u/Emperor_Friendpatine, I didn't stop recruiting. If you try for 100 days again, definitely make sure you've got an archer statue somewhere you can easily reach during the day. It doesn't help that you didn't have an archer statue. If there is a better strategy to use, please let me know! Otherwise, how many archers (on the cliff side alone) is enough? 100? 150? I invest a minimum of 20-30 coins per day to the banker, too. I donate a good amount of land on the beach side to farmers too as soon as that side is clear of portals, and donate to the farmer/archer/builder statues regularly/as needed. I don't spread too far away from my camp (usually, on the cliff side, it looks something like: castle - ballista - wall - ballista - wall - ballista - ballista). I always arrive riding either the bear or unicorn. I make sure to bring the baker hermit and use the knight hermit and/or ballista hermit (both preferably, but that's kinda left to luck in my experiences) early-to-mid game. (There was no archer statue, though.only a builder statue, which I invested in regularly.) Keep in mind this meant I had a total of over 110 archers (since they always seem to "even themselves out" on the island, half on one side, half on the other). I will explain my strategy in detail below in case the number of archers isn't actually where my strategy is failing, but the title really says it all: How many archers are enough? In that last scenario, I had all those defenses plus 67 archers (including 16 knight-archers) just on the cliff side. I didn't spread my camp out too far, though - I just spread out my defenses. ![]() This most recent time, in an act of desperation, I cleared out everything on both sides and built a ballista at every single rock formation. I tend not to run out of money, but just can't fortify my defenses enough to last despite extensive efforts. Most recently, I got to day 73 and was over-run. I like sinking my teeth into new challenges, and the 100 Day Challenge has always eluded me. ![]() I get into week-long spurts where its the only game I play (and devote too much time to probably lol) and then won't touch it for another month. I've been playing Kingdom: New Lands for almost a year and I love it.
